Join us in Spring 2024 as we coordinate the training of a new group of yoga teacher trainees here at East Lansing Hot Yoga! We're over the moon excited to be offering a new concept for hybrid online & i-studio yoga teacher training! Beginning March 2024, ELHY teachers Mike Richter and Matt Gleason will coordinatte student participation in a self-paced, online teacher training program using a preferred online platform with optional Yoga Alliance certification (upon completion) and in-studio mentorship and experience component with regular group meetings, discussions, workshops, and opportunities to co-teach and/or independently teach ELHY yoga classes!
When is it?
- Online training begins as soon as you register with theonline training provider and ends when you complete all required exams and turn in required materials at your own pace.
- In-person training begin on Tuesday, March 12 and ends on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
There will be 10 weeks of Tuesday KYAs with Mike and Sunday Slow Burns with MattG., each followed by an hour group discussion, activity and/or practice teaching session. The weekly Tuesday KYA practice with group activity afterward will go from 7:30-10PM. The weekly Sunday Slow Burn practice with group activity afterward will go from 3-5PM.
In addition to meeting twice weekly, we will have a "retreat" in the Greater Lansing area on Saturday, April 20 from 2-7PM that will include special group activities with snacks and a group meal provided.
Finally, opportunities to co-teach or independently lead full length clases to all ELHY clients/members will be offered born within and outside of regularly scheduled meeting times. The last two meeting dates will be composed of 2 back-to-back free community classes taught by yoga teacher trainees.
How much does it cost?
The total hybrid program cost comes to $1225; consisting of the online program component through online provider ($425) and in-studio program component through ELHY ($800).
- Online yoga teacher training is $425 through the Yoga Alliance RYS 200 accredited preferred platform provider (MyVinyasaPractice). Participants will register and pay for this component directly with the online provider and is subject to their refund policy.
- Participants that complete the full program with the provider will be eligible to register with the Yoga Alliance for an additional initial fee of $115 to be recognized with the industry-standard, Registered Yoga Teacher 200 (YRT 200) credential.
- In-studio ELHY mentorship and experience training is $800 (early bird pricing is $700 before 2/2/24). Participants will register and pay for this component through ELHY and it is refundable through March 12.

Who is it for?

This program is for everyone, from those who want to develop into successful yoga teachers, to those who are interested in taking their practice to the next level by deepening their understanding of the science of yoga, to those looking for a life changing, friendship building, and fitness/wellness/happiness enhancing yoga immersion. We will develop our practice through over 20 in-studio yoga classes in 60 days! You will independently study the eight limbs of yoga, the historical and cultural context of yoga. Vedic philosophy, Sanskrit, breathing techniques, meditation practices, mantra, murda and the engertic body using the online platform. YTT students may find additional times to meet for wirkgroups, study, etc. as they work to complete the online program modules.
We will have five yoga immersion weekends at Yoga North in Central Lake from Friday evening to early Sunday afternoon. Students are welcome to come to Yoga North a day or two early for self-study, practice, and to enjoy the beautiful area. Each Saturday will include a special activity such as a farm tour, a foraging expedition, permaculture exploration, guided nature hikes, healthy cooking demonstration, etc…
